Garage: privacy policy

This policy covers the Android app Garage (same name in Italian, package dev.baldarn.garage), developed by Lorenzo Farnararo.

In short

The app does not collect, transmit or sell any personal data. It has no account, does not use the internet, and contains no ads, analytics or third-party libraries that track you.

Data handled on your device

The app stores only on your phone:

  • the vehicles you add: name, licence plate, fuel type and starting odometer reading;
  • refuels and charges: date, odometer, quantity, cost and any notes;
  • maintenance, recurring services and deadlines (road tax, inspection, insurance and others), with dates, mileage, amounts and any notes;
  • the app preferences: units, currency, whether reminders are on and how far in advance, selected vehicle, theme.

The app never sends this data off your device. The developer has no access to it in any way.

Export and backup

If you choose to export your expenses to a CSV file or create a JSON backup, the file is saved where you decide. From then on it is handled by you and by whatever service you use to keep it. You can also restore a backup by picking the file to open yourself.

The app is excluded from Android’s automatic backup to Google Drive: your vehicle data is never uploaded to the cloud. Data is only copied if you transfer everything directly from one phone to another (cable or direct connection) while setting up a new device. The developer never receives this data.

Permissions

  • Notifications: to remind you before deadlines and recurring services. You can deny or revoke it at any time.
  • Run at startup: to reschedule the reminders after the phone restarts.

The app does not request internet, location, contacts, camera, microphone or file access.

Deleting your data

You can delete all data by uninstalling the app, or from Android settings under the app’s Storage with “Clear data”. You can also delete individual refuels, services and deadlines in the app, or a whole vehicle with all its data.

Children

The app is not intended for people under 18.

Changes

If the app changes how it handles data, this page will be updated before the new version is released.
