From Starlink to Neuralink: does Elon Musk's future look like The Matrix?

Some rambling morning thoughts on where Elon Musk’s tech ecosystem is heading.

It starts with Starlink and satellite mobile connectivity. SpaceX has a huge advantage: low-cost launches. And that opens up interesting scenarios for phones, even though frequencies and the physical limits of the connection don’t go away with a tweet.

Then there’s Musk’s possible AI device: an assistant that’s always on, always connected.

Getting something off my chest

Along the way I get something off my chest. Years ago I won a hackathon with an indoor navigation project for blind people. And there’s an anecdote about Tesla and the opinions of certain managers that’s pretty funny in hindsight.

I also talk about virtual investments and Bitcoin, a hunch I never acted on. The difference, for me, is between speculating and building something that creates value.

Finally, Neuralink: communication, speech synthesis and the future of brain-computer interfaces. Today the bottleneck is the interface, how fast we can move information between ourselves and machines.

And the final question: will we get to the point of learning new skills like Neo in The Matrix?

Which of these technologies will change our lives the most? Write it in the comments on the video (it’s in Italian).
